Just when you feel that you’re starting to get the hang of the year, you realise that its already March and all you’ve managed to do so far is put the Christmas tree to bed and make a Valentine’s day card out of macaroni and your partner’s crushing disappointment. But never fear, March is here to spring you back into life and give you that jolt to get out and about and do some good things that doesn’t include just visiting your dear ol’ mum for Mother’s Day on the 22nd (there’s your reminder!). To give you a hand, we at Aberdeen Taxis have put together a wee taste of what March events are coming up in Aberdeen that might be worth a wee look –

Tuesday, March 3rd

Oor Wullie – His Majesty’s Theatre

Wullie is still looking good considering it’s his 80th birthday! This brand-new musical adventure celebrates Wullie and pals and is filled with all the Jings, Crivens, and Help Ma Boab anyone could ever handle. The superb cast will be bringing the beloved comic strip to life from Tuesday 3rd until Saturday 7th of March, so pull up a bucket and join Wullie for some good old-fashioned hijinks.

Tickets start at £13 and please see the theatre’s website for more details.

Wednesday, March 4th

Twin Atlantic – Music Hall

Glasgow Alt-Rockers Twin Atlantic touch down in Aberdeen for a night of taps aff and riffs a-plenty. The 3-piece is celebrating the birth of their 4th album ‘Power’ with a live music tour which will peddle their new music to the masses and they’ll no doubt throw in some of the hits to keep the bar queue down.

Tickets are £22 and more information can be found on their website.

Monday, March 9th

King Creosote – Music Hall

Scotland’s favourite indie-folk musician returns to the city with a live performance of his score for ‘From Scotland With Love’ which will be played in tandem with the film. This performance is sure to be a wonderful night as King Creosote and his fellow musicians transport you back in time to tell the stories of ordinary forgotten Scots, remembered through the timeless music of KC and company.

Tickets start at £37.25

Thursday 26th March

Adore Delano – Tivoli Theatre

Everyone’s favourite Drag Race Alumni and Allstar abandoner Adore Delano visits the Tivoli Theatre to bring some Drag Queen mayhem to your Thursday night. Expect a ‘special guest’ to help Adore fill you full of songs, filth, frivolity, and produce a ‘Party’ RuPaul would call the polis on.

Tickets start at £28.65

Elvana, Elvis Fronted Nirvana – Unit 51

From the bowels of Disgraceland, two Rock & Roll icons of the afterlife are raised from the dead! Rock & Roll met Grunge, had a kiss and a cuddle and then came the bastard baby that is Elvana – the Elvis led Nirvana Tribute act! These gigs are something to behold, with a jump-suited, caped-up Elvis Presley singing lead for Nirvana. It may be one of the signs of the apocalypse, but it is worth it just to see Elvis bashing out Smells Like Teen Spirit like the no-good hound dog he once was.

Tickets are £19.25 and well worth it!
