Finally, February is here and the longest yard that is January is well behind us now. The city wakes from its extended post-festive slumber and now we can poke our wee heads out of the blanket and have a good swatch at what good stuff there is to do outside our collective duvet.

Thursday 13th February

SPECTRA: Aberdeen’s Festival of Light

Public light artworks animate spaces in Aberdeen’s city centre at this four-day festival starting on the 13th until the 16th Feb. This year’s festival celebrates Aberdeen’s rich coast and waters in recognition of the national ‘Year of Coast and Waters’.

The four-day festival uses exciting public light artworks to animate spaces throughout Aberdeen’s city centre and audiences can expect the unexpected around every corner of Scotland’s famed ‘Silver City’.

Friday 14th February

Kathryn Joseph– Cowdray Hall

Kathryn Joseph returns to play Aberdeen for a special Valentine’s night gig. The singer has toured with the likes of Mogwai and even opened for The Cure during their 40th-anniversary celebrations. Kathryn has won many fans over the last few years with her unique voice and talent and is absolutely a performer not to be missed, given the chance. This event is held in the newly refurbished Cowdray Hall, which is recognised as one of the finest venues for acoustics in Aberdeen. Please see the event page for more tickets and more details.

Sunday 16th February

Craft Beer Tour – Outside Marischal College

Sample the delights of Aberdeen’s extensive craft beer scene on this tour exploring the history of craft beer. This small-group tour will take you to four city-centre pubs where you can learn about the history as well as sample some of the tasty offerings at each of the locations. Advance booking is necessary.

Saturday February 22nd

Circus of Horrors: The 25th Anniversary Tour – Beach Ballroom

The new Circus of Horrors 25th anniversary show will be an immersive celebration of its astounding 25 years. It will include an amazing amalgamation of acts, rock’n’roll, and many a thrill and spill. A show that will have you sat on the edge of your seat. Tickets from £19.

Sunday February 23rd

Michael Ball & Alfie Boe – P&J Live

Musical theatre behemoth Michael Ball OBE and popular tenor Alfie Boe are back together to wow Aberdeen audiences this February with a show packed with duets to delight and solos to make your heart soar. Tickets start around £50 for a night that is sure to have you singing in the taxi, all the way home!
