Balmoral Castle

Balmoral Castle is a large estate house in Royal Deeside and has been one of the recidences of the British Royal Family since 1852.

Craigievar Castle

Craigievar Castle is situated just south of Alford in Aberdeenshire and belongs to the National Trust for Scotland, given to by William Forbes-Sempill, 19th Lord Sempill.

Crathes Castle

Crathes Castle is situated in Banchory, which has turrets, gargoyles and ancient great yew hedges. Crathes is home to the Green Lady, which you can explore if you wish… if you’re brave enough.

Fyvie Castle

Another beautiful castle situated in the village of Turriff and belongs to the National Trust for Scotland. Don’t miss the grisly death mask of a hanged murderer on display in the library.

Drum Castle

Drum Castle is situated in Drumoak in Aberdeenshire. Here you can explore 700 years of history in one of the oldest tower houses. If you’re a fan of art exhibitions, this is also a great place to visit.

Dunnottar Castle

Dunottar Castle is situated just outside of Stonehaven and is a ruined medieval fortress located just off the coast. It is a fantastic spectacle to visit and is one of the surviving buildings of the 15th and 16th century.
